Artist's Biography

Paula Neahring attended Northern Illinois University, majoring in Visual Communications and minoring in Business Administration. She earned Bachelor and Master of Fine Arts degrees at The School of The Art Institute of Chicago, where she studied multiple mediums, focusing on video and painting in graduate school.

Paula freelanced as a graphic designer and as an art director in advertising. Companies she worked for include: Chicago Symphony Orchestra, BBDS, Publicis/Hal Riney and Upshot.

Paula Neahring creates abstract and conceptual art in a variety of mediums. She has exhibited process art, collage, painting, video, photography, and sculpture. She designed a set for the November Ten production of The Last Five Years written by Jason Robert Brown, which was inspired by her photography; and was an art critic for The Bureau County Republican.
